wings over water

Join me this March for an unforgettable four days of birding along the South Carolina coast. This trip is timed around mating and nesting, so we can capture intimate moments of courtship displays, nest building, and parents preparing for their young. From majestic herons to lively shorebirds, we’ll have the chance to photograph a variety of species in their natural habitats. Perfect for both beginners and experienced photographers, this workshop will focus on techniques for photographing birds in action, composing compelling shots, and understanding bird behavior.

Don’t miss this opportunity to create stunning images and unforgettable memories!

I've secured a charming Airbnb in the picturesque town of Bluffton, South Carolina, as our base for this unforgettable bird photography workshop. Each participant will enjoy a private room, ensuring you have your own space to relax and recharge. Our accommodation also includes a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, laundry facilities, and comfortable spots perfect for editing our photos.

Every day, we’ll start early to catch the sunrise at various stunning locations. Our itinerary includes visits to diverse habitats, such as a local wildlife refuge, the shorebird-rich beaches of Hilton Head, the scenic trails of Pinckney Island, and the beautiful Cypress Wetlands in Port Royal. These spots provide countless opportunities to photograph a variety of bird species in their natural environments. The possibilities are endless, and each day will bring new adventures!

During the afternoons, we’ll take advantage of the daylight indoors to focus on editing and learning sessions. I’ll guide you through post-processing techniques to bring out the best in your shots, answer questions, and provide feedback. After an early dinner, we’ll venture out to capture the magic of sunset at a different location each evening.

To enhance your experience, each participant will receive a sand surfer—an essential tool for capturing shorebirds along the coast. I’ll teach you how to use it, and it’s yours to keep after the workshop.

If you’re ready to immerse yourself in a fun and supportive community of passionate photographers, this workshop is for you! You’ll be surrounded by like-minded individuals eager to share knowledge, lend a hand, and cheer each other on. I’m here to guide you every step of the way, offering tips on settings, composition, and technique to help you make the most of every photo opportunity. Our focus will be on quality over quantity, aiming to capture truly memorable images.

This will be more than just a workshop; it will be an adventure filled with laughter, learning, and incredible photographic moments!
