A Coastal Wildlife & Landscape Photography Retreat

When: May 11th - May 15th

Join me for an intimate photography retreat on the North Carolina coast, where we'll slow down, observe, and capture the incredible stories unfolding along the shoreline. Based out of The Salty Lens Beach House in Surf City, our small group will spend our days photographing mating/nesting Terns, , Black Skimmers, shorebirds, pelicans, sunrises, sunsets, and everything in between.

Whether you're hoping to improve your wildlife & landscape photography or simply spend a few days immersed in nature with fellow photographers, this women-only workshop offers the perfect blend of education, creativity, and coastal adventure.

Together, we'll focus on much more than simply documenting wildlife. We'll explore behavior, light, composition, storytelling, and the art of creating images that connect with the viewer. Between shooting sessions, we'll gather back at The Salty Lens to edit images, discuss techniques, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of staying together under one roof.

Some of the most extraordinary wildlife moments happen just a few inches above the sand.

With plenty of time in the field, personalized instruction, and image reviews, you'll leave with new skills, fresh inspiration, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of North Carolina's coastline. Whether you're an experienced photographer or just beginning your wildlife photography journey, you'll be welcomed into a supportive, encouraging environment where learning and creativity go hand in hand.

What’s included

  • Five days and four nights of accommodations at The Salty Lens

  • Pick up from the RDU airport on the morning of May 11th, 2027

  • Drop off at the RDU airport on the 15th. Schedule flights for after 1pm on 15th

  • Breakfast/coffee supplies will be provided in the house.

  • All transportation during the entire trip

  • A “Sand Surfer” for you to use and take home after the workshop

  • Daily in-the-field photography instruction

  • Image reviews and editing sessions

  • Small group experience for individualized attention

  • A whole lot of FUN!
